Hotel Planned For Land Near 80th, Dodge Streets

October, 2009 - Plans for a 12-story condo tower have been scrapped for a piece of land near 80th and Dodge streets.
In their place, developers have planned for an extended-stay hotel.
City dignitaries gathered on a cleared lot to break ground for the Staybridge Suites. Developers said the 102-room hotel will appeal to an upper-end client and is in an ideal location.
"With the hospitals and the other traffic at (interstate) 680 and Dodge and 90th, and Dodge being your highest traffic in the city, we felt like this was a winner," said Midas Hospitality's Dan Marak.
The hotel should be open for business in about a year.
