Ramada Inn in Fairview to get Upgrades
Fairview Heights, IL - Belleville News Democrat
April 14, 2006 - Fairview Heights and O'Fallon have been hot spots for new hotel development in recent years. Now one of the oldest hotels in that area will undergo a major renovation aimed at making it more competitive with the new kids on the block.
The Ramada Inn hotel complex, on Illinois 159 just north of Interstate 64 in Fairview Heights, was bought in March by Fairview Hospitality LLC, a group led by St. Louis lawyer Bradford Cytron.
Group representatives pledged improvements that are expected to cost about $750,000. Work will include a complete renovation of the building's facade, landscaping and parking lot upgrades. On the inside, new porcelain floors, millwork, furniture and carpet will improve the lobby, ballroom and guest rooms.
"The property has an outstanding location and features TGI Friday's and The Funny Bone Comedy Club," Cytron said. "We believe the improvements will upgrade the facility's image and appeal to the business traveler."
The new owners have hired St. Louis-based Midas Hospitality to manage day-to-day operations of the hotel.
"The Ramada hosts a number of wedding receptions and corporate meetings," said Midas Properties spokesman David Robert. "We believe the improvements and updated amenities will increase both of those segments."
Work on the improvements has already begun with replacement of the hotels outdoor signs and the beds in its guest rooms...
